One of the most famous wintersport resorts of Austria, located Located on the edge of a that can be frozen in wintertime. Zell am See is a remarkable ski area that shares its diverse terrain with its close neighbour Kaprun. However, two observations may be made. Firstly, the beginner slopes do not always have good snow cover, but fortunately, there is good snowmaking equipment. Secondly, good skiers may be disappointed that there are not many off-piste runs. Despite these two drawbacks, Zell am See is a high-quality resort with extensive tourist facilities and a good night life.
