Morzine is a village with an assertively Savoyard character and perfectly-controlled development. At an altitude of 1000 m, its woody, hilly environment contrasts with the sheer mountains that surround it. The quality of the service at its restaurants, allied with high-quality local production, make Morzine a top pick for Savoyard gastronomy. Its skiable slopes linked to the large Portes du Soleil area allow skiers to go all the way into Switzerland.

We like We don't like

  • Skiable area of the Portes du Soleil.
  • Gastronomy.
  • Haute-Savoie charm.
  • The resort relatively low altitude(1000 m)tends to leave the snow quality on the "resort return" pistes a little to be desired.
  • The resort is crowded with cars at peak hours.
