Medium-sized, cosy wintersport resort located in the province of Salzburg. Kaprun is located a few kilometres above Zell am See with whom it shares its ski area. Capron's part of the ski area is geared towards good skiers and the Klizsteinhorn glacier is considered the highlight of the resort. The view from an altitude of more than 3000 meters of the lake on the edge of the resort is incredible. Like its neighbour, Kaprun is equipped with extensive recreational facilities, including a remarkable sports centre. Whiners will complain that there aren't more difficult runs, but less informed skiers will appreciate the diversity of the terrain. Cross-country skiers will definitely enjoy Kaprun, a 200 km slope starts in Zell am See (Schüttdorf).
