La Plagne is made up of about ten sites split into two categories.
On one hand, there are the authentic, traditional and peaceful village resorts: Montchavin (1250 m), Champagny la Vanoise (1250 m), Plagne Montalbert (1350 m) and Les Coches (1450 m).
On the other hand, there are the high-altitude resorts: Plagne 1800, the most recent in the slope area; Plagne Bellecôte (1930 m) which offers direct access to the glacier; Plagne Centre, the 'capital' of the area, constructed in a very functional style; the magnificent little village of Belle Plagne (1970 m); Plagne Villages (2050 m) comprised mainly of residences; and Aime La Plagne (2100 m) which overlooks it all.
The skiable slopes of La Plagne are very spread out and geared towards beginner and medium-level skiers. The Vanoise Express cable car has been opened in December 2003. Since that date, the Paradiski area (Les Arcs et La Plagne) offers 232 slopes on 425 km. This should open enormous perspectives for experienced skiers and off-piste aficionados.
